New Delhi : India recorded a record 2,59,496 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,35,27,717 cases in the country at 8 am on April 12, 2021. On the positive side, altogether 1,65,670 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours in India, the highest single day recovery till date, taking the tally to 1,21,56,529 on April 12, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients further dropped to 89.86% in the country on April 12, 2021.
The Active cases (12,01,009) on April 12, 2021, accounted for 8.88% of the total Covid-19 cases (1,35,27,717) recorded so far in India on April 12, 2021, a surge of 92,922 cases in last 24 hours. India has tested a total of 25,78,06,986 samples so far including 11,80,136 samples on April 11, 2021. Meanwhile, 10,45,28,565 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far in the country including 29,33,418 beneficiaries on April 11, 2021.
The Covid-19 jumped to 1,70,179 in India on April 12, 2021, with 904 new deaths being recorded in the country in the country in last 24 hours including 349 in Maharashtra, 122 in Chhattisgarh, 67 in Uttar Pradesh, 59 in Punjab, 54 in Gujarat, 48 in Delhi, 40 in Karnataka, 24 in Madhya Pradesh, 22 in Tamilnadu, 21 in Jharkhand, 16 in Haryana, 16 in Kerala, 10 in West Bengal, 10 in Rajasthan, 9 in Andhra Pradesh, 8 in Uttarakhand, 6 in Telengana, 6 in Bihar, and 5 in J&K. India had recorded 839 new deaths on April 11, 2021. Meanwhile, the case fatality rate dropped to 1.26%in the country on April 12, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
