New Delhi : India recorded 2,59,170 Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down by 14,640 cases , taking the tally to 1,53,21,089 cases in the country at 8 am on April 20, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 1,54,761 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / Discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,31,08,582 in the country on April 20, 2021.The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients dropped to 85.56% in India on April 20 from 86 % on April 19, 2021.
Active cases climbed to 20,31,977 in India on April 20, 2021, and accounted for 13.26% of the total Covid -19 cases (1,53,21,089) recorded so far in the country, an increase of 1,02648 cases in last 24 hours. The country has tested 26,94,14,035 samples so far including 15,19,486 samples on April 19, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 12,71,29,113 people have so far been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India including 32,76,555 beneficiaries on April 19, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,80,530 in India on April 20, 2021, with 1,761 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 351 in Maharashtra, 240 in Delhi, 175 in Chhattisgarh, 167 in Uttar Pradesh, 146 in Karnataka, 117 in Gujarat, 83 in Punjab, 79 in Madhya Pradesh, 53 in Rajasthan, 46 in Jharkhand, 44 in Tamilnadu, 41 in Bihar, 38 in West Bengal, 33 in Haryana, 27 in Andhra Pradesh, 24 in Uttarakhand, 21 in Kerala, 18 in Telengana, 17 in Goa, and 13 in Himachal Pradesh. India had recorded 1,619 new deaths on April 19, 2021. The case fatality rate dropped to 1.18% in India on April 20 from 1.19% on April 19, 2021.
