New Delhi : India recorded 1,84,372 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,38,73,825 cases in the country at 8 am on April 14, 2021. The country had registered 1,61,736 new Covid-19 cases on April 13, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 82,339 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally of the patients recovered so far to 1,23,36,036 on April 14, 2021. India also recorded 1,027 new deaths in last 24 hours. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid patients further dropped to 88.92% in the country on April 14 from89.51% on April 13, 2021.
Active cases (13,65,704) on April 13, 2021, accounted for 9.84% of the total Covid-19 cases ( 1,38,73,825) recorded so far in India, a terrifying surge of 1,01,006 new cases in last 24 hours. India has tested 26,06,18,866 samples so far including 14,11,758 samples on April 13, 2021. Meanwhile, 11,11,79,578 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far in India including 26,46,528 beneficiaries on April 13, 2021.
In an alarming development, the Covid-19 toll surged 1,72,085 in India on April 14, 2021, with 1,027 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 281 in Maharashtra, 156 in Chhattisgarh, 85 in UttarPradesh, 81 in Delhi, 67 in Gujarat, 67 in Karnataka, 50 in Punjab, 40 in Madhya Pradesh, 29 in Jharkhand, 28 in Rajasthan, 20 in West Bengal, 20 in Kerala, 18 in Tamilnadu, 16 in Haryana, 11 in Himachal Pradesh, 14 in Bihar, 13 in Uttarakhand, 10 in Andhra Pradesh, and 8 in Telengana. India had recorded 879 new deaths on April 13, 2021. The case fatality rate dropped to 1.24% on April 14 from 1.25% on April 13, 2021.
