New Delhi :Daily Recoveries continued to outnumber the Daily New Covid-19 Cases in India for 18th consecutive day on May 31, 2021. India registered only 1,52,734 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 1,65,553 cases the previous day, the lowest in last 50 days, taking the tally to 2,80,47,534 at 8 am on May 31, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 2,38,022 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours, down from 2,76,309 recoveries on May 30, taking the tally of patients cured so far to 2,56,92,342 on May 31, 2021.
India also logged 3,128 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,29,100 in the country on May 31, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients improved to 91.60 % in the country on May 31 from 91.25% on May 30, 2021. India has tested 34,48,66,883 samples so far including 16,83,135 samples on May 30, 2021. A total of 21,31,54,129 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the country so far including 10,18,076 vaccination doses on May 30, 2021.
India has been witnessing a continuous fall in the active caseload. The Active Caseload further dropped to 20,26,092 active cases in the country on May 31, 2021, a net decline of 88,416 in last 24 hours. Active cases accounted for only 7.22% of the country’s total Positive Cases ( 2,80,47,534), according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The 3,128 new deaths due to Covid-19 in the country included 814 in Maharashtra, 493 in Tamilnadu, 381 in Karnataka, 186 in Kerala, 142 in West Bengal, 138 in Uttar Pradesh, 127 in Punjab, 94 in Andhra Pradesh,89 in Haryana, 78 in Delhi, 66 in Rajasthan, 60 in Madhya Pradesh, 55 in Assam, 52 in Bihar, 41 in Uttarakhand, 37 in Chhattisgarh, 25 in Gujarat, 19 in Jharkhand, and 17 in Manipur. India had registered 3,460 new deaths due to Covid-19 on May 30, 2021.
