New Delhi : India reported 91,702 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,92,74,823 cases in the country at 8 am on June 11, 2021. The country has logged less than 1 lakh cases for the 4th successive day. On the other hand, a total of 1,34,580 Covid-19 patients were declared cured in last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,77,90,073 on June 11, 2021.

Active cases further dropped to 11,21,671 in India at 8 am on June 11, 2021, a decline of 46,281 cases in last 24 hours. Recovery Rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients improved to 94.93% in India on June 11. India reported 3,403 new deaths in last 24 hours taking the toll to 3,63,079 in the country on June 11. The case fatality rate was 1.24% in India on June 11.

More than 25.60 crore (25,60,08,080) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far, through Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 24,44,06,096 doses (as per data available at 8 am on June 11, 2021). More than 1.17 crore (1,17,56,911) Covid Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, according to Union Health Ministry figure. Over 38 lakh (38,21,170vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by the States/UTs within the next 3 days. Implementation of the Liberalized and Accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of Covid-19 Vaccination started on May 1, 2021.

Meanwhile, Union Health Ministry and Chairman, Empowered Group on Vaccine Administration (EGVAC), on June 10, 2021, strongly refuted reports regarding  alleged hacking of CoWIN.

“There have been some unfounded media reports of the CoWIN platform being hacked. Prima facie, these reports appear to be fake. However, the Union Health Ministry and the Empowered Group on Vaccine Administration (EGVAC) are getting the matter investigated by the Computer Emergency Response Team of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MietY),” the Union Health Ministry said on June 10, 2021..

Dr R S Sharma, Chairman of the Empowered Group on Vaccine Administration (Co-WIN) has clarified, “Our attention has been drawn towards the news circulating on social media about the alleged hacking of Co-WIN system. In this connection we wish to state that Co-WIN stores all the vaccination data in a safe and secure digital environment. No Co-WIN data is shared with any entity outside the Co-WIN environment. The data being claimed as having been leaked such as geo-location of beneficiaries, is not even collected at Co-WIN.”
