New Delhi : India reported 60,471 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, the lowest in last 75 days, taking the tally to 2,95,70,881 in the country at 8 am on June 15, 2021. Active cases count further declined to 9,13,378 in India on June 15, 2021, a drop of 59,780 cases in last 24 hours, and account for 3.09% of the total Covid-19 cases reported so far in the country.. 

Recoveries continued to outnumber the new Covid-19 cases in the country for 33rd consecutive days. A total of 1,17,525 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally of the patients cured so far to 2,82,80,472 in the country on June 15, 2021, with the recovery rate (RR) improving to 95.64%.The country logged 2,726 new deaths due to Covid-19 taking the toll to 3,77,031 on June 15. The case fatality rate was 1.28% in  India on June 15, 2021.

Meanwhile, as  part of the nationwide vaccination drive, Government of India (GoI) has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them Covid Vaccine free of cost. Implementation of the snd Accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of Covid-19 Vaccination started from May 1, 2021. Under the Strategy, every month 50% of the total Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL) cleared vaccine doses of any manufacturer would be procured by GoI. It would continue to make these doses available to the State Govts totally free of cost as was being done earlier.

More than 26.6crore (26,69,14,930) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 25,67,21,069 doses (as per data available at 8 am on June 15, 2021). More than 1.05 crore (1,05,61,861) COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered. Furthermore, more than 47,43,580 vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by the States/UTs within 3 days, according to a PIB release.
