New Delhi : India logged 54,069  new Covid-19n cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases registered so far in the country to 3,00,82,778  at 8 am on June 24, 2021. Less than 1 lakh Daily New Cases have been reported for 17 continuous days now. This is a result of sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs.

On the other hand, a total of 68,885 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours in the country taing the tally of patients declared cured so far to 2,90,63,740 on June 24, 2021. Daily recoveries continued to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 42nd consecutive day on June 24. A total of 14,816 recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours as compared to the daily new cases.

India recorded 1,321 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 3,91,981 on June 24. The overall recovery rate (RR) improved to 96.61% on June 24 showing a sustained increasing trend.

India’s Active caseload further declined to 6,27,057 on June 24, 2021, a drop of 16,137  cases in last 24 hours, and account for 2.08% of the total positive cases reported so far in the country.

Meanwhile, in a milestone achievement, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage exceeded 30 Crore on June 23, 2021. A total of 30,16,26,028 vaccine doses have been administered through 40,45,516 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on June 24, 2021. A total 64,89,599 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours. The new phase of universalisation of Covid-19 vaccination commenced on June 21, 2021.

With substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country, a total of 18,59,469 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted 39,78,32,667 tests so far, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

While on one side testing has been enhanced across the country, a continued decline in weekly case positivity is noticed. Weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 3.04% while the Daily Positivity rate was 2.91% on June 24. It has remained less than 5% for 17 consecutive days now.
