New Delhi : India registered 50,040 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,02,33,183 in the country at 8 am on June 27, 2021.Less than 1 lakh Daily New Cases have been reported for 20 continuous days now.
On the other hand, a total of 57,944 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,92,51,029 in the country on June 27. Daily recoveries continued to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 45th consecutive day on June 27. Altogether 7,904 more recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours as compared to the daily new cases.
In a significant development, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage exceeded 32 crores on June 26, 2021. A total of 32,17,60,077 vaccine doses have been administered through 42,79,210 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on June 27, 2021. A total of 64,25,893 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.The new phase of universalisation of Covid-19 vaccination commenced from June 21, 2021
The vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccine, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain. As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them Covid Vaccines free of cost.
In the new phase of the universalisation of the Covid-19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccine being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs. A total 31,51,43,490 vaccine doses have been provided by Government of India to States/UTs so far, through Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. Of this, the total consumption, including wastages is 30,35,97,466 doses (as per data available at 8 am on June 27, 2021).
More than 1.15 crore (1,15,46,024) balance and unutilised Covid Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered. Furthermore, more than 20,48,960 vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by the States/UTs within the next 3 days, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
India also reported 1,258 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 3,95,751 in the country on June 27, 2021, including 1,20,881 in Maharashtra, 34,654 in Karnataka, 32,199 in Tamilnadu, 24,961 in Delhi, 22,443 in Uttar Pradesh, 17,583 in West Bengal, 15,979 in Punjab, 12,566 in Andhra Pradesh, 9,578 in Bihar, and 5,110 in Jharkhand. The Recovery Rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients improved to 96.75% in India on June 27, 2021, showing a sustained increasing trend.
India’s Active Caseload declined to 5,86,403, a drop of 9,162 cases in last 24 hours, and accounted for only 1.94% of total cases on June 27, 2021. The Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.91% in the country on June 27 while Daily positivity rate was 2.82%.
With substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country, a total of 17,77,309 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted 40,42,65,101 tests so far.
