New Delhi : India recorded 48,786 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of such cases registered so far to 3,04,11,634 at 8 am on July 1, 2021. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported for four consecutive days.

On the other hand, a total of 61,588 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,94,88,918 on July 1, 2021.  India’s Daily Recoveries continued to outnumber the Daily New Cases for 49th consecutive days on July 1, 2021.  now. More than 12,000 (12,802) recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours as compared to the daily new cases, according to Union Health Ministry figure.The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients has improved to 96.97% showing a sustained increasing trend.

Meanwhile, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage exceeded 33.57 crore on June 30, 2021. A total of 33,57,16,019 vaccine doses have been administered through 44,75,791 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on July 1, 2021. Altogether 27,60,345 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours. The new phase of universalisation of Covid-19 vaccination commenced on June 21, 2021.

India has also been witnessing a continuous fall in the Active caseload. The country’s Active Caseload was 5,23,257 on July 1, 2021, a net decline of 13,807 cases in last 24 hours, and now accounts foronly 1.72% of the country’s total Positive Cases.

With substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country, a total of 19,21,450 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 41.20 crore (41,20,21,494) tests so far.

While on one side testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, a continued decline in weekly case positivity is noticed. Weekly Positivity Rate is currently 2.64% while the Daily Positivity rate was 2.54% on July 1, 2021. It has remained less than 5% for 24 consecutive days now.

India logged 1,005 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 3,99,459 at 8m on July 1, 2021, including 121945 in Maharashtra, 35,040 in Karnataka, 32,619 in Tamilnadu, 24,977 in Delhi, 22,591 in Uttar Pradesh, 17,708 in West Bengal, 16,052 in Punjab, 13,439 in Chhattisgarh, 13235 in Kerala, 12,706 in Andhra Pradesh, 10,059 in Gujarat, 9,588 in Bihar, and 5,113 in Jharkhand.
