New Delhi : India recorded 44,643 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, up from 42,982 a day before, taking the tally of cases registered so far in the country to 3,18,56,757 at 8 am on August 6, 2021. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported for 40 consecutive days.
On the other hand, a total of 41,096 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours down from 41,726 on August 5 taking the tally to 3,10,15,844. The recovery rate (RR) dropped to 97.36% on August 6, 2021, from 97.37% on August 5, according to Union Health Ministry data.
India’s Active Caseload was 4,14,159 on August 6, 2021, an increase of 3,083 cases in last 24 hours. Active cases constituted 1.30% of the country’s total Positive Cases. Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.41% on August 6 while the Daily Positivity rate was 2.72% today. Daily Positivity rate has remained below 5% for 60 consecutive days now.
Meanwhile, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crossed the landmark of 49 crore on August 5, 2021. Cumulatively, 49,53,27,595 vaccine doses have been administered through 57,64,712 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on August 6. A total of 57,97,808 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
A total of 16,40,287 sample tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 47.65 crore (47,65,33,650) tests so far.
