New Delhi : India logged 44,111 Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases in the country to 3,05,02,362 at 8 am on July 3, 2021. India has reported less than 50,000 Daily New Cases for the 6th consecutive day on July 3, 2021.
On the other hand, a total of 57,477 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally of patients declared cured to 2,96,05,779 on July 3, 2021. More than 13,000 (13,366) recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours as compared to the daily new cases.This constitutes an overall recovery rate of 97.06% showing a sustained increasing trend, according to Union Health Minitry figure.
India has also been witnessing a continuous fall in the active caseload. The country’s Active Caseload was 4,95,533, less than 5 lakh after 97 days, a net decline of 14,104 in the last 24 hours. The active cases accounted for only 1.62% of the country’s total Positive Cases on July 3, 2021.
India recorded 738 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,01,050 in the country on July 3, 2021, including 1,22,353 in Maharashtra, 35,222 in Karnataka , 32,818 in Tamilnadu, 24,983 in Delhi,22,616 in Uttar Pradesh, 17,758 in West Bengal, 13,505 in Kerala, 13,450 in Chhattisgarh, 9,594 in Bihar, 7,327 in Uttarakhand, and 5,113 in Jharkhand.
Meanwhile, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage crossed the landmark of 34 crore on July 2, 2021. A total of 34,46,11,291 vaccine doses have been administered through 45,60,088 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on July 3, 2021. A total of 43,99,298 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours. The new phase of universalisation of COVID19 vaccination commenced from June 21, 2021.
While on one side testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, a continued decline in weekly case positivity is noticed. Weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 2.50% while the Daily Positivity rate stands was 2.35% on July 3, 2021. Daily Positivity rate has remained less than 5% for 26 consecutive days now.
