New Delhi : India logged 41,965 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, up from 30,941 cases on August 31, 2021, taking the tally of cases registered so far in the country to 3,28,10,845 cases at 8 am on September 1, 2021. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases has been reported in the country for 66 consecutive days now.
On the other hand, a total of 33,964 Covid-19 patients were declared cured in the country in last 24 hours, down from 36,275 on August 31, 2021, taking the tally to 3,19,93,644 on September 1, 2021, with the recovery rate dropping to 97.51% from 97.53% on August 31.
The Active Caseload in the country was 3,78,181 on September 1, 2021, an increase of 7,581 cases in last 24 hours. Active cases accounted for 1.15% of the country’s total Positive Cases on September 1.
In a landmark achievement, India administered more than 1 Crore Covid-19 vaccine doses on August 31, 2021, achieving the feat twice in last 5 days. With the administration of 1,33,18,718 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 65.41 crore (65,41,13,508) as per provisional reports till 7 am on September 1, 2021. This has been achieved through 69,06,357 sessions.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 16,06,785 sample tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 52.31 crore (52,31,84,293) cumulative tests.
The Weekly Positivity Rate at 2.58% remains less than 3% for the last 68 days now. The Daily Positivity rate was 2.61% on September 1, 2021. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 5% for 86 consecutive days now, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
