New Delhi : India logged a total of 4,14,188 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, up from 4,12,262 cases on May 6, 2021, taking the tally to 2,14,91,598 cases in the country at 8 am on May 7, 2021. On the positive side, altogether 3,31,507 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged taking the tally of patients cured so far to 1,76,12,351 on May 7, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients was 81.95 % in India on May 7, 2021. India also recorded 3,915 new deaths in last 24 hours.
Active cases climbed to 36,45,164 in India on May 7, 2021, an increase of 78,766 cases in last 24 hours. India has tested 29,86,01,699 samples so far including 18,26,490 samples on May 6, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 16,49,73,058 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 23,70,298 beneficiaries on May 6, 2021.
With an addition of 3,915 new deaths, the Covid-19 toll in India rose to 2,34,083 on May 7, 2021. The new deaths included 853 in Maharashtra, 350 in Uttar Pradesh, 335 in Delhi, 328 in Karnataka, 212 in Chhattisgarh, 195 in Tamilnadu, 177 in Haryana, 161 in Rajasthan, 154 in Punjab, 151 in Uttarakhand, 133 in Jharkhand, 117 in West Bengal, 90 in Bihar, and 86 in Madhya Pradesh. India had recorded 3,980 new deaths on May 6, 2021. The case fatality rate in India was 1.09% on May 7, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
