New Delhi : India logged 40,134 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 3,16,95,958 at 8 am on August 2, 2021. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported for 36th consecutive day.
On the other hand, a total of 36,946 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,08,57,467 on August 2. This constitutes an overall recovery rate of 97.35%. India recorded 422 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,24,773 in the country on August 2.
India’s Active Caseload on August 2, 2021, was 4,13,718, an increase of 2,766 cases in last 24 hours. The Active cases now constitute 1.31% of the country’s total Positive Cases, according to Union Health Ministry figure..
Meanwhile, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 47.22 crore. Cumulatively,47,22,23,639 vaccine doses have been administered through 55,99,690 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on August 2, 2021. A total of 17,06,598 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
With substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country, a total of 14,28,984 sample tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 46.96 crore (46,96,45,494) tests so far. Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.37% while the Daily Positivity rate was 2.81% on August 2. Daily Positivity rate has remained below 5% for 56 consecutive days now.
