New Delhi : India logged 3,66,161 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 4,03,738 on May 9, 2021, taking the tally to 2,26,62,575 cases in the country at 8 am on May 10, 2021. The silver lining, however, is the fact that a total of 3,53,818 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally of patients cured so far to 1,86,71,222 in the country on May 10, 2021. India also recorded 3,754 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,46,116 on May 10, 2021.
Active cases rose to 37,45,237 in India on May 10, 2021, an increase of 8,589 cases in last 24 hours, and accounted for 16.53% of the total Covid-19 cases ( 2,26,62,575) . The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients was 82.39% in India on May 10 from 82.15% on May 9, 2021. The country has so far tested 30,37,50,077 samples including 14,74,606 samples on May 9, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 17,,01,76,603 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 6,89,652 beneficiaries on May 9, 2021.
The 3,754 new deaths recorded in India in last 24 hours included 572 in Maharashtra, 490 in Karnataka, 273 in Delhi, 236 in Tamilnadu, 294 in Uttar Pradesh, 189 in Chhattisgarh, 180 in Uttarakhand, 159 in Rajasthan, 151 in Haryana, 124 in West Bengal, 121 in Gujarat, 97 in Jharkhand, 86 in Madhya Pradesh, 67 in Goa, and 67 in Bihar. India had recorded 4,092 new deaths on May 9, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
