New Delhi : With spike continuing at an terrifying rate, India logged 3,60,960 Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, up from 3,23,144 cases on April 27, 2021, taking the tally to 1,79,97,267 cases in the country at 8 am on April 28, 2021. On the positive side, a total of 2,61,162 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,1,48,17,371 on April 28, 2021. India has recorded 3,293 new deaths in last 24 hours, up from 2,771 deaths on April 27, 2021.
Active cases jumped to 29,78,709 in India on April 28, 2021, a jump of 96,505 cases in last 24 hours. The country has tested 28,27,03,789 samples so far including 17,23,912 samples on April 27, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 14,78,27,367 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in so far including 25,56,182 beneficiaries on April 27, 2021. The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients in India dropped to 82.33% on April 28 from 82.54% on April 27, 2021.
The Covid-19 death toll climbed to 2,01,187 in the country on April 28, 2021, with 3,293 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 895 in Maharashtra, 381 in Delhi, 264 in Uttar Pradesh, 246 in Chhattisgarh, 180 in Karnataka, 170 in Gujarat, 131 in Jharkhand, 121 in Rajasthan, 100 in Punjab, 98 in Msdhya Pradesh, 96 in Uttarakhand, 85 in Bihar, 84 in Haryana, 77 in Tamilnadu, 73 in West Bengal, 64 in Andhra Pradesh, 56 in Telengana, 32 in Kerala, 31 in Goa, 25 in J&K, and 24 in Himachal Pradesh. India had recorded 2,771 new deaths on April 27, 2021.
