New Delhi : India registered 36,083 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 3,21,92,576 at 8 am on August 15, 2021. Less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for 49 consecutive days.
On the other hand, a total of 37,927 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,13,76,015 on August 15, 2021, with the recovery rate (RR) improving to 97.46%.
India’s Active Caseload was 3,85,336 on August 15, 2021, a drop of 2,337 cases in last 24 hours. Active cases now constitute only 1.20% of the country’s total Positive Cases. The Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.00% while the Daily Positivity rate was 1.88% on August 15. Daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for last 20 days and below 5% for 69 consecutive days now.
Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed the landmark of 54 Crore. Cumulatively, 54,38,46,290 vaccine doses have been administered through 61,35,193 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on August 15, 2021. A total of 73,50,553 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
A total of 19,23,863 sample tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 49.36 crore (49,36,24,440) tests so far.
India recorded 493 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,31,225 with the case fatality rate being 1.34% on August 15, 2021.
