New Delhi : With the spike continuing at a frightening pace, India recorded 3,52,991 new Covid-19 cases, up from 3,49,691 new cases on April 25, taking the tally to 1,73,13,163 cases in the country at 8 am on April 26, 2021. The silver lining, however, is a total of 2,19,272 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours, up from 2,17,113 patients declared cured on April 25, taking the tally to 1,43,04,382 in the country on April 26, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients in the country was was 82.62 % on April 26, 2021.
Active cases climbed to 28,13,658 in India on April 26, 2021, a massive increase of 1,30,907 cases in last 24 hours. The country has so far tested 27,93,21,177 samples so far including 14,02,367 samples on April 25, 2021. On the other hand, altogether 14,19,11,223 people have so far been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India including 9,95,288 beneficiaries on April 25, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure..
The Covid-19 death toll jumped to 1,95,123 in India on April 26, 2021, with 2,812 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours. The new deaths included 832 in Maharashtra, 350 in Delhi, 206 in Uttar Pradesh, 199 in Chhattisgarh, 157 in Gujarat, 143 in Karnataka, 103 in Jharkhand, 92 in Madhya Pradesh, 82 in Tamilnadu, 74 in Rajasthan, 76 in Punjab, 69 in Andhra Pradesh, 68 in Bihar, 64 in Haryana, 57 in West Bengal, 44 in Uttarakhand, 43 in Telengana, 32 in Himachal Pradesh, 30 in Kerala, 24 in Goa, and 21 in J&K. India had recorded 2,767 new deaths on April 25, 2021.
