New Delhi : With the scaring spike continuing, India logged a total of 3,49,691 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,69,60,172 cases in the country at 8 am on April 25, 2021. The country had recorded 3,46,786 new cases on April 24, 2021. What is most significant is the fact that a total of 2,17,113 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally of cured patients, to 1,40,85,110 on April 25, 2021. On April 24, 2021, altogether 2,19,838 Covid-19 patients were declared cured, the highest single day recoveries.
Active cases climbed to 26,82,751 in India on April 25, 2021, an addition of 1,29,811 new Active cases in last 24 hours, and now account for 15.82% of the Covid-19 cases (1,69,60,172) recorded so far in the country. India has tested 27,79,18,810 samples so far including 17,19,588 samples on April 24, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 14,09,16,417 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 25,36,612 beneficiaries on April 24, 2021.
The Covid-19 death toll jumped to 1,92,311 in India on April 25, 2021, with 2,767 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours. The new deaths included 676 in Maharashtra, 357 in Delhi, 222 in Uttar Pradesh, 218 in Chhattisgarh, 208 in Karnataka, 152 in Gujarat, 110 in Jharkhand, 104 in Madhya Pradesh, 92 in Punjab, 81 in Uttarakhand, 80 in Tamilnadu, 77 in Bihar, 74 in Rajasthan, 60 in Haryana, 59 in West Bengal, 38 in Telengana, 37 in Andhra Pradesh, 25 in Kerala, 24 in Himachal Pradesh, 17 in Goa, and 15 in J&K. India had recorded a total of 2,624 new deaths on April 24, 2021. Meanwhile, the casae fatality rate dropped to 1.13% in India on April 25 from 1.14% on April 24, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
