New Delhi : India logged 3,23,144 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down 29,847 from 3,52,991 cases on April 26, 2021, taking the tally to 1,76,36,307 cases in the country at 8 am on April 27, 2021. In an important development, a total of 2,51,827 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours, up from 2,19,272 on April 26, taking the tally of patients cured so far in the country to 1,45,56,209 on April 27, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients dropped to 82.54% in the country on April 27 from 82.62% on April 26, 2021.
Active cases climbed to 28,82,204 in India on April 27, 2021, an increase of 68,546 cases in last 24 hours, and accounted for 16.34% of the total Covid-19 cases ( 1,76,36,307) recorded so far in the country. The country has so far tested 28,09,79877 samples including 16,58,700 samples on April 26, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 14,52,71,186 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 33,59,963 beneficiaries on April 26, 2021.
The Covid-19 death toll jumped to 1,97,894 in India on April 27, 2021, with 2,771 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours. The new deaths included 524 in Maharashtra, 380 in Delhi, 249 in Uttar Pradesh, 226 in Chhattisgarh, 201 in Karnataka, 158 in Gujarat, 124 in Jharkhand, 98 in Punjab, 94 in Tamilnadu, 88 in Madhya Pradesh, 84 in Rajasthan, 75 in Haryana, 68 in West Bengal, 67 in Uttarakhand, 67 in Bihar, 52 in Telengana, 51 in Andhra Pradesh, 38 in Goa, 28 in Kerala, and 25 in J&K. India had recorded 2,812 new deaths on April 26, 2021. Meanwhile, the case fatality rate dropped to 1.12 % in India on April 27, 2021.
