New Delhi : India registered 30,941 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 42,909 cases on August 30, 2021, taking the tally of cases in the country to 3,27,68,880 on August 31, 2021. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases has been reported in the country for 65 consecutive days now.
On the other hand, a total of 36,275 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours, up from 34,763 recoveries on August 30, 2021, taking the tally to 3,19,59,680 on August 31 with the recovery rate (RR) improving to 97.53% from 97.51% on August 30.
The Active Caseload was 3,70,640 in the country on August 31, a decline of 5,684 cases in last 24 hours, and accounted for 1.13% of the country’s total Positive Cases, down from 1.15 % on August 30.
Weekly Positivity Rate at 2.51% remains less than 3% for the last 67 days now. The Daily Positivity rate was 2.22% on August 31, 2021. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 5% for 85 consecutive days now.
India’s cumulative vaccination coverage crossed 64 Crore landmark on August 30, 2021.With the administration of 59,62,286 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 64.05 crore (64,05,28,644) as per provisional reports till 7 am on August 31, 2021. This has been achieved through 68,50,464 sessions, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 13,94,573 sample tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 52.15 crore (52,15,41,098) cumulative tests.
India logged 350 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours, down from 380 on August 30, 2021, taking the toll to 4,38,560.
