New Delhi : India logged 28,204 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 35,499 cases on August 9, 2021, taking the tally of cases registered so far in the country to 3,19,98,158 at 8 am on August 10, 2021, the lowest in 147 days.

In sharp contrast, a total of 41,511 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,11,80,968 on August 10, 2021, with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.45%, the highest ever Recovery Rate achieved so far.

India’s Active caseload further dropped to 3,88,508 cases on August 10, 2021, a drop of 13,680 cases in last 24 hours, the lowest in last 139 days.  Active cases constituted 1.21% of total cases, the lowest since Mar 2020, on August 10, 2021. Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.36% while the Daily positivity rate was 1.87% on August 10, 2021, less than 3% for last 15 days.

Meanwhile, 51,45,00,268 vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive including 54,91,647 doses on August 9, 2021.

As part of the nationwide vaccination drive which commenced on June 2, 2021, the Government of India ( GoI) has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalisation of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccine being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.

More than 52.56 crore (52,56,35,710) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far, through all sources and a further 48,43,100 doses are in the pipeline. Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 51,09,58,562 doses (as per data available at 8 am on August 10, 2021). More than 2.07 crore (2,07,55,852) balance and unutilised Covid Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs and private hospitals to be administered.

The country has conducted 48,32,78,545 sample tests so far including 15,11,313 samples on August 9, 2021.
