New Delhi : India reported 26,727 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, up from 23,529 cases on September 30, 2021, taking the tally of cases recorded so far to 3,37,66,707 at 8 am on October 1, 2021. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported for 96 consecutive days now.
On the other hand, a total of 28,246 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours, dowm from 28,718 cases on September 30, taking the cumulative tally of recoveries (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,30,43,144 on October 1, 2021. India’s recovery rate (RR) improved to 97.86% on October 1, 2021, from 97.85% on September 30. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020.
The Active Caseload was 2,75,224 on October 1, 2021, a further drop of 1,796 cases in last 24 hours, the lowest in 196 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.82% of the country’s total Positive Cases, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
With the administration of 64,40,451 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crossed the landmark of 89 crore (89,02,08,007) as per provisional reports till 7 am on October 1, 2021today. This has been achieved through 86,46,674 sessions.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 15,20,899 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 57.04 crore (57,04,77,338) cumulative tests.
The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.70% remains less than 3% for the last 98 days now. The Daily Positivity rate was 1.76% on October 1, 2021. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for last 32 days and below 5% for 115 consecutive days now.
India reported 277 new deatrhs due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours, down from 311 deaths on September 30, 2021, taking the toll to 4,48,339 on October 1, 2021.
