New Delhi : India reported 16,326 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported for 118 consecutive days now.
On the other hand, a total of 17,677 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recoveries since the beginning of the pandemic to 3,35,32,126 on October 23, 2021. India’s recovery rate (RR) was 98.16% on October 23, at its highest peak since March 2020.
The Active Caseload remains below 2 lakh mark and was 1,73,728 on October 23, 2021, the lowest in 233 days. Active cases accounted for 0.51% of the country’s total Positive Cases on the day, the lowest since March 2020, according to UNion Health Ministry figure.
Meanwhile, with the administration of 68,48,417 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 100 Crore mark to reach 101.30 Crore (1,01,30,28,411) as per provisional reports till 7 am on October 23, 2021. This has been achieved through 1,00,29,602 sessions.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 13,64,681 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 59.84 Crore (59,84,31,162) cumulative tests.
TheWeekly Positivity Rate at 1.24% remains less than 2% for the last 29 days now. The Daily Positivity rate was 1.20% on October 23, 2021. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for last 19 days and below 3% for 54 consecutive days now.
