New Delhi : India recorded 14,146 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 15,981 cases on October 16, 2021, the lowest in 229 days now. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases that is being reported for 112 consecutive days now.
On the other hand, a total of 19,788 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours, up from 17,861 recoveries on October 16, taking the tally of recoveries to (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,34,19,749 on October 17, 2021. India’s recovery rate improved to 98.10% on October 17, at its highest peak since March 2020, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The Active Caseload dropped to below 2 lakh mark in India and was 1,95,846 on October 17, the lowest in 220 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.57% of the country’s total Positive Cases.
With the administration of 41,20,772 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 97.65 crore (97,65,89,540) as per provisional reports till 7 am on October 17, 2021. This has been achieved through 96,46,485 sessions.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 11,00,123 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 59.09 crore (59,09,35,381) cumulative tests.
The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.42% remains less than 3% for the last 114 days now. The Daily Positivity rate was 1.29% on October 17, 2021 . The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for last 48 days
