New Delhi : India reported 1,17,100 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,52,26,386 cases on January 7, 2022, as the virus is spreading across thecountry at an unprecedented speed.

In sharp contrast, a total of 30,836 Covid-19 patients recovered in last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic to 3,43,71,845 on January 7, 2022.  India’s recovery rate stands at 97.57%.

India’s Active Caseload was 3,71,363 on January 7, 2022, morning, an alarming increase of 85,962 cases in last 24 hours. Active cases constituted 1.05% of the country’s total Positive Cases on the day, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 15,13,377 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 68.68 Crore (68,68,19,128) sample tests. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 4.54% while the Daily Positivity rate 7.74% on January 7, 2022, morning.

With the administration of more than 94 lakh (94,47,056) vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage  exceeded 149.66 Crore (1,49,66,81,156) as per provisional reports till 7 am on January 7, 2022. This has been achieved through 1,59,96,534 sessions.

India logged 302 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,83, 178 in the country on January 7, 2022, morning.
