New Delhi : India on June 6, 2021, reported 1,14,460 new Covid-19 Cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest in the last two months, taking the tally to 2,88,09,339 in the country on June 6, 2021. The country has recorded less than 2 lakh Daily New Cases for 10 continuous days now. India logged 2,677 new deaths deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 3,46,759 in the country on June 6, 2021.
The country has been witnessing a continuous fall in the Active cases. The Active Caseload has dipped below 15 lakh mark and was 14,77,799 on June 6, 2021. The caseload was below 20 lakh for sixth successive days. A net decline of 77,449 was witnessed in the last 24 hours and Active cases accounted for only 5.13% of the country’s total Positive Cases( 2,88,09,339) reported so far in India.
With more people recovering from Covid-19 infection, India’s Daily Recoveries outnumbered the Daily New Cases for 24th consecutive day on June 6, 2021. A total of 1,89,232 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours in the country. A total of 74,772 more recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours as compared to the daily new cases. Out of the people infected since beginning of the pandemic, altogether 2,69,84,781 people have already recovered from Covid-19 with the recovery rate being 93.67%, which is showing an increasing trend, according to a PIB release.
A total of 20,36,311 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country and cumulatively India has conducted over 36.4 crore (36,47,46,522) tests so far. While on one side testing has been enhanced across the country, a continued decline in weekly case positivity is noticed. Weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 6.54% while the Daily Positivity rate was 5.62% on June 6, 2021. It has remained less than 10% for 13 consecutive days now.
In another significant achievement, the cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has exceeded 23 crore. A total of 23,13,22,417 Crore vaccine doses have been administered under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. 33,53,539 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours. A total of 23,13,22,417 vaccine doses have been administered through 32,42,503 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on June 6, 2021.
