India declare 1st innings at 622/7 in 4th test against Australia, Pant 159 not out

Patna : India declared their first innings at 622/7 after 167.2 in the third session of the play on day 2 of the 4th test against Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, Australia. Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten on 159 in 189 balls with 15 fours and a six ( his 2nd test century). Ravindra Jadeja fell to spinner Nathan Lyon for 81 in 114 balls with 7 fours and a six. Pant and Jadeja added 204 runs for the 7th wicket. India declared their first innings at the fall of Jadeja’s wicket at 622. Ten overs of play is still left.

Earlier resuming at their overnight score of 303/4, India lost the wicket of Hanuma Vihari (42) when the score was 329. Vihari could add only three runs to his overnight score of 39. Pujara missed his double century by 7 runs when he fell to Nathan Lyon for 193 adding 63 runs to his overnight score of 130. He added 89 runs with Pant for the 6th wicket. Pujara was out when the score was 418.

For Australia, Nathan Lyon took 4/178 while Josh Hazlewood took 2/105. Mitchell Starc took 1/123.
