Patna : India crushed England by 203 runs in the third test at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, UK, on the fifth day of the play on August 22, 2018. But, England still lead the five-test series 2-1. Resuming at their overnight score of 311/9, England soon lost their 10th and last wicket at 317 in the first session of the play on August 22 with spinner Ravichandran Ashwin taking the wicket of pacer James Anderson.

India had made 329 in their first innings and declared their second innings at 352/7. England made 161 in their first innings and were all out for 317 in their second innings. India Captain Virat Kohli scored his 23rd test century in the match while Jos Buttler scored century for England. Both of them scored centuries in the second innings. England had won the toss but opted to bowl.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah took 7 wickets in the match while Hardik Pandya took 6 wickets. Pandya also made an unbeaten 52 in 52 ball in the second innings. Ishant Sharma took 4 wickets in the match.
