Patna : India crushed West Indies by 9 wickets in the 5th ODI at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthpuram, Kerala, on November 1, 2018, to wrap up the 5-match ODI series 3-1 with one ending in tie. Electing to bat after winning the toss, West Indies were all out for only 104 in 31.5 overs with captain Jason Holder scoring 25, Marlon Samuels 24, and Rovman Powell 16. Shai Hope was out for a duck while Shimron Hetmyer made 9.

For India, Ravindra Jadeja took 4/34 while Jasprit Bumrah took 2/11. K Khaleel Ahmad took 2/29. Kuldeep Yadav and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar took one wicket each.

Replying to the West Indies total, India scored 105/1 in 14.5 overs only vice-captain and open Rohit Sharma hitting an unbeaten 63 in 56 ball with 5 fours and 4 sixes and captain Virat Kohli scoring 33 in 29 ball with 6 fours. Shikhar Dhawan was out for 6 to fast bowler Oshane Thomas, who was bowling at a brutal pace often touching 145 kmph to 149 kmph. Ro-hit Sharma hit all West Indies fast bowlers for six in the match. Rohit has now hit 201 sixes in ODIs in 187 innings. Kohli hit 453 runs in the series.
