Patna : India beat West Indies by 6 wickets in the 3rd T20I at M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on November 11, 2018, night, riding on a 130 run partnership for the third wicket between opener Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant. Manish Pandey scored the winning run on the last ball of the 20th over. Dhawan fell to spinner Fabian Allen on the 5th ball of the 20th over with India needing one run to win the match though it added an element of suspense to the match. Allen bowled a wonderful last over. India wrapped up the three-match T20I series 3-0. Dhawan was declared Man of the Match while Kuldeep Yadav was declared Man of the Series.
Dhawan scored 92 in 62 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes. It was his first fifty in the series across all the formats. Pant scored 58 in 38 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes, his first fifty in T20I. He fell to Keemo Paul. Both Dhawan and Pant were severe on fast bowlers Oshane Thomas, Carlos Brathwaite, and all-rounder Kieron Pollard.
Keemo Paul took 2/32 in 4 overs including the wicket of India captain Rohit Sharma, who scored 4. Lokesh Rahul fell to Oshane Thomas for 17 with 4 fours. India scored 182/4.
Earlier electing to bat after winning the toss, West Indies scored 181/3 in 20 overs riding on an unbeaten 43 in 37 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes by Darren Bravo and an unbeaten 53 in 25 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes by Nicholas Pooran. Openders Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer scored 24 and 26 runs respectively. Wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin scored 15. For India, spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took 2/28 while Washington Sundar took 1/33.
