Patna : India beat West Indies (WI) by 257 runs in the 2nd test at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica, on Day 4 on September 2, 2019, late night, to clinch the two-match series 2-0. Hanuma Vihari was declared Player of the Match for scoring 111 in India’s first innings and an unbeaten 53 in the 2nd innings.
Set a target of 468 runs, WI were all out for 210 in 59.5 overs in their 2nd innings with Shamarh Brooks scoring 50 (run out), captain Jason Holder 39, and Jermaine Blackwood, a concussion substitute for Darren Bravo, scoring 38.
Fast bowler Mohammad Shami and spinner Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each while Ishant Sharma took two wickets and Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket. West Indies had scored 117 in their 1st innings. India were all out for 416 in their first innings and declared their 2nd innings at 168/4.
With this win, Virat Kohli has become India’s most successful captain winning 28 tests surpassing M S Dhoni’s 27 test wins. India’s has secured 120 points for ICC Test Championships by winning both the tests – 60points for each test win.
