Patna : India hammered Sri Lanka (SL) by 7 wicket in 2nd T20I at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala, as Shreyas Iyer scored an unbeaten 74 in 44 balls hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes while Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 45 runs in only 18 balls with 7 fours and 1 six. They added 58 runs in only 26 balls in their unbroken partnership for the 4th wicket.

Chasing a target of 184 runs, India scored 186/3 in only 17.1 overs with 17 balls to spare. India scored 77 runs in last 5 overs losing only 1 wicket. India had won the toss and opted to bowl. Shreyas Iyer was named Player Of The Match. India now lead the three-match series 2-0.

India, however, survived some early jitters losing the wickets of openers Rohit Sharma ( captain) and Ishan Kishan with 44 runs on board. Rohit fell to fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera for 1 while Ishan fell to fast medium bowler Lahiru Kumars for 16. A Kumara delivery hit Ishan on the helmet and he needed medical attention and then resumed batting but fell soon.

Sanju Samson and Iyer added 84 runs in only 47 balls for the third wicket. Samson fell to Lahiru Kumara for 39 in 25 balls hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes. Samson hit Kumara for 1 four and 3 sixes in 13th overs but fell to the same bowler on the last ball of the overs. Samson had, however, done hos job.

Earlier batting first, SL scored a decent 183/6 in 20 overs with opener Pathum Nissanka scoring 75 in 53 balls with 11 fours while captain Dasun Shanaka scored 47 runs in 19 balls hitting 2 fours and 5 sixes. Opener Danishka Gunathilaka scored 38 in 29 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.
