Patna : India defeated Namibia by 9 wickets in a Group 2 match of ICC T20 World Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, UAE, as opener Rohit Sharma and scored 56 in 37 balls hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes and his opening partner K L Rahul scored scored an unbeaten 54 in 36 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Suryakumar Yadav remained unbeaten on 25 in 19 balls hitting 4 fours. Chasing a target of 133 runs, India scored 136/1 in 15.2 overs. Rohit and Rahul added 86 runs for the 1st wicket.
India had won the toss and opted to bowl. Batting first, Namibia scored 132/8 in 20 overs as spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets each. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets. For Namibia, David Wise scored 26 runs while opener Stephan Baard scored 21 runs.
