Patna : India crushed Ireland by 76 runs in the first of the two T20s at Dublin on June 27, 2018, night, riding on a 61 ball 97 by opener Rohit Sharma and 45 ball 74 by his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan. Sharma and Dhawan were involved in a 160 run partnership for the first wicket in 16 overs. Sharma hit 8 fours and 5 sixes in his 97 while Dhawan hit 5 fours and 5 sixes in his 74.

India scored 208/5 in 20 overs. Captain Virat Kohli was out for a duck while wicketkeeper M S Dhoni made 11. Suresh Raina was out for 10. Ireland had won the toss but opted to bowl. For Ireland, Peter Chase took 4/35 including the wickets of Sharma, Kohli, Dhoni, and Raina.

In reply, Ireland scored 132/9 in 20 overs with opener James Shannon scoring 60 in 35 ball hitting 5 fours and 4 sixes.

For India, chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav took 4/21 in 4 overs while wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took 3/38 in 4 overs. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah took 2/19 in 4 overs.
