Patna : India defeated England by 4 wickets in final at Sir Vivian Richards Ground, North Sound, Antigua, on late February 5, 2022, late night, to win the ICC U19 World Cup for the 5th time.  India had earlier won ICC U19 World Cup in 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2018. No other team has won the ICC U19 World Cup more than thrice.

Right arm medium fast bowler Raj Bawa was named Player Of The Match for taking 5/31 in 9.5 overs and scoring 35 runs in 54 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. BCCI announed a cash reward of Rs 40 lakh each to all the players of the team and Rs 25 lakh each to all the support staff. Dewald Drewis, 18, South Africa, was  named Player Of The Series for scoring 508 runs in the tournament hitting 18 sixes.

Batting all-rounder Nishant Sindhu remained unbeaten on 50 runs in 54 balls hitting 5 fours and 1 six while Dinesh Bana (wk) remained 13 not out in 5 balls hitting 2 sixes. Bana hit the winning six.

England had won the toss and opted to bat and were all out for 189 runs in 44.5 overs with James Rew scoring 95 runs while James Sales remained unbeaten on 34 in 65 balls with 2 fours.

Chasing a target of 190 runs, India scored 195/6 in 47.4 overs with Bana hitting back to back sixes in 48th over. India though had a terrible start losing their first wicket that of opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi (0) without any runs on board. Opener Harnoor Singh and ever reliable Shaik Rasheed added 49 runs for the 2nd wicket. Vice-captain Shaik Rasheed and captain Ysh Dhull then added 46 runs for the 3rd wicket, Rasheed fell to medium fast bowler James sales for 50 in 84 balls with 6 fours and it was 95/3. Two runs later Dhull also  fell to James Sales for 17 and it was 97/4.

Nishant Sindhu and Raj Bawa added 67 runs for the 5th wicket. Bawa fell to medium fast bowler Joshua Boydon for 35 and it was 164/5 after 43 overs. Kaushal Tamble fell to medium fast bowler Thomas Aspinwall for 1 making it 178/6 after 46.2 overs.
