Patna : India defeated Australia by 9 wickets on October 20, 2021, at ICC Academy Ground, Dubai, UAE, in a warm up game before the T20 World Cup as captain Rohit Sharma (opener) scored 60 (retired hurt) in 41 balls hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes and his opening partner K L Rahul scored 39 in 31 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Rohit and Rahul added 68 runs for the first wicket.
Chasing a target of 153 runs, India scored 153/1 in 17.5 overs as Suryakumar Yadav scored an unbeaten 38 in 27 balls hitting 5 fours and 1 six while all-rounder Hardik Pandya remained 14 not out in 8 balls hitting 1 six. Rohit and Suryakumar hit fast bowler Pat Cummins for a six each in 15th over. Rohit had also hit Maxwell for a six in 13th over and Mitchell Marsh in 12th over.
