Patna : India were all out for 278 runs in 84.5 overs in 2nd session of Day 3 in their first innings in 1st test against England at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, UK, on August 6, 2021, evening, as opener Lokesh Rahul scored 84 runs in 214 balls with 12 fours and all-rounder Rvindra Jadeja scored 56 in 86 balls hitting 8 fours and 1 six.

Rishabh Pant (wk) scored 25 runs in 20 balls with 3 fours and 1 six while fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah scored 28 runs in 34 balls hitting 3 fours and 1 six, his highest score in test cricket. India have taken a lead of 95 runs as England had scored 183 runs in their first innings..

For England, fast medium bowler Ollie Robinson took 5/85 in26.5 overs while fellow fast medium bowler James Anderson took 4/54 in 23 overs.

Resuming at their overnight score of 125/4, India lost the wicket of Pant in 50th over and it was 145/5. Rahul and Jadeja added 61 runs for the 6th wicket. Rahul fell to James Anderson and it was 205/6. Shardul Thakur was out next bll for zero and it was 205/7.  Jadeja fell to Ollie Robinson for 56 and it was 232/8. Mohd Shami fell to Robinson for 13 making it 245/9.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohd Siraj then added 33 runs for the 10th wicket. Bumrah hit Sam Curran for 4,6, and 4 on successive balls in 82nd over. Bumrah also hit Robinson for four in 83rd over. Siraj remained unbeaten 7 in 8 balls.

England were 2/0 after 2 overs and trail by 93 runs.
