Patna : India were 72/1 after 15 overs in the 1st ODI against Australia at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, India, with opener Rohit Sharma departing early. Opener Shikhar Dhawan is unbeaten on 37 in 49 balls with 7 fours while Lokesh Rahul is batting on 21 in 26 balls with 3 four. Australia won the toss but opted to bowl. Dhawan and Rahul have added 59 runs in 63 balls for the 2nd wicket so far.

Dhawan was initially slow but picked up momentum after the departure of Rohit hitting Kane Richardson for 3 fours and Mitchell Starc for 2 fours. Dhawan also hit fast bowler Pat Cummins for two consecutive fours in his 5th over. Rohit fell to fast bowler Mitchell Starc for 10 runs in his 3rd over making it 13/1. Rohit had hit 2 fours in Starc’s first over.

All three openers : Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Lokesh Rahul are playing in this ODI.
