India 35/3 in 2nd innings in Centurion test, staring at defeat

Patna : Chasing a target of 287 runs to win the second cricket test against South Africa at SuperSport Park, Centurion, South Africa, India were 35/3 in 23 overs at stumps on day four on January 16, 2018, struggling to save the test with one full day remaining and 7 wickets in hand. Cheteshar Pujara was unbeaten on 11 in 40 balls and wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel was batting on 5 in 24 balls.

For South Africa, fast bowler Lungisani Ngidi took the wickets of Captain Virat Kohli ( 5) and opener Lokesh Rahul (4). Opener Murli Vijay was bowled by fast bowler Kagiso Rabada for 9. The wicket of Kohli fell when the score was 26.

Earlier, South Africa were all out for 258 after tea in their second innings. They had scored 335 in their first innings. India had scored 307 in their first innings.
