Patna : India were 291/5 after 97.3 overs in their second innings against England on the third day of the third cricket test at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, UK, on August 20, 2018, with Captain Virat Kohli scoring 103 in 197 ball with 10 fours, his 23rd test century, and Cheteswar Pujara scoring 72 in 208 ball with 9 fours. India lead by 459 runs. 

Kohli has scored 440 runs in the first three tests in the five-test series including two centuries. He has scored 200 runs or more in a test 12 times.Kohli and Pujara were involved in a 113 run partnership for the third wicket. Ajinkya Rahane was batting on 18 while Hardik Pandya was batting on 9. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was out for 1 James Anderson.
