Patna : Electing to bat after winning the toss, India were 198/4 in their first innings in 2nd test test against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, Maharashtra, on December 3, 2021, as opener Mayank Agarwal is batting on 102 runs, his 4th test century, while Wriddhiman Saha (wk) is batting 20. Agarwal scored century in 198 balls.
India had a rollicking start with opener Sbhubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal adding 80 runs for the first wicket. But, then suffered three big blows losing the wickets of Gill (44), Cheteshwar Pujara (o), and captain Virat Kohli (o) making it 80/3 after 30 overs with spinner Ajaz patel taking all the three wickets.
Mayannk Agarwal and Shreyas Ieyr then added 80 runs for the 4th wicket. Iyer also fell to Ajaz Patel for 18 making it 160/4. Mayank and Saha have added 34 runs so far in their unbroken partnership for the 5th wicket.
