Patna : India were 157/2 in 52 overs at tea on Day 1 in their first innings in 2nd test against England at Lord’s , London, on August 12, 2021, night, as openers Rohit Sharma and Lokesh Rahul added 126 runs for the 1st wicket. Rohit and Lokesh Rahul had also added 97 runs for 1st wicket in first innings of first test.
Rohit was bowled by fast medium bowler James Anderson for a brilliant 83 in 145 balls with 11 fours and 1 six of fast bowler Mark Wood, his highest test score overseas. Cheteshwar Pujara fell to James Anderson for 9 making it 150/2. Pujara’s poor form continues. At tean, Rahul was unbeaten on 55 in 143 balls with 3 fours and 1 six while captain Virat Kohli is yet to open his account. England had won the toss and opted to bowl.
India made one chamge in the side bringing in fast bowler Ishant Sharma in place of injured Shardul Thakur. England have brought in fast bowler Mark Wood and batsman Haseeb Hameed.
