Patna : The second T20I between India and Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, Australia, was called off on November 23, 2018, due to rain. The match ended with no result. This means, India can now only draw the series 1-1 having lost the 1st T20I by 4 runs on November 21. India had won 7 consecutive T20I series before this series.

India won the toss on November 23 but opted to bowl. Australia were 132/7 after 19 overs when play was stopped due to rain. Under the D/L method India were first given a target of 137 in 19 overs.  As the rain continued, the target was revised to 90 runs in 11 overs. But, before the play could resume, it again started raining and the play was called off.
