Ara : In a sensational development, a married woman on January 1, 2017, complained to Nawada police station, Ara, that her husband Amrendra Kumar was staying at Ara Circuit House with a young girl posing as an MLA from Jharkhand putting. By the time police reached there, the so-called MLA had escaped with his girl friend from Ara Circuit House.

Sources said that Amrendra Kumar posing as an MLA from Jharkhand was staying at Ara Circuit House along with a young girl for the last nine days but no one verified his credentials. In the meantime, a married woman Shalini Singh reached Ara in the late evening on January 1, 2018, and claimed herself to be the wife of the so-called MLA staying at Ara Circuit House with a young girl. She went to Nawada Police Station and complained against Amrendra Kumar.

Shalini said the she was married to Amrendra Kumar at Ranchi in Jharkhand and had a child too from him. Police immediately swung into action and reached Ara Circuit House the same night but by that time Amrendra Kumar had escaped along with the girl.

Amrendra Kumar had allegedly succeeded in getting a room at Ara Circuit House on the verbal order of an officer of the Bhojpur district administration. The situation took a serious turn when Shalini Singh claimed before police that she was wife of Amrendra Kumar who was staying at Ara Circuit House with a girl claiming to be an MLA from Jharkhand.

All the senior officers of Bhojpur district refrained from saying anything on the issue saying they were not aware of the case. The mobile of the Bhojpur DM was switched off when this reporter tried to contact him for his comment on the issue.

Former MLA from Sandesh Bijendra Yadav said that senior government officials and People’s Representatives stay at Ara Circuit House and wondered how an imposter stayed there and at whose order and why no one bothered to check his identity. The former legislator said that no one can get a room or stay at the Circuit House without the permission of the officials of the district. He stated if such situation continues, the day is not far when even some extremist or terrorist might stay at the Ara Circuit House. He demanded thorough inquiry into the matter.

Shalini Singh said that her husband Amrendra Kumar was staying at the Ara Circuit House along with a young girl from Asansol in West Bengal who had been kidnapped and a named FIR had been lodged with police on November 6, 2017.. The family members of the girl and police were calling her repeatedly to know her whereabouts. After that, she contacted her husband on mobile and reached Ara but he talked to her outside the Ara Circuit House and later escaped with the girl leaving all his belongings behind. Raju Kumar, Caretaker of Ara Circuit House, said that he was going to complain to police after he came to know about the fake MLA.

Sources said that Amrendra Kumar had allegedly called an OSD for booking a room at Ara Circuit House on December 14, 2017, and came to stay there along with a girl on December 16, 2017. SHO, Nawada Police Station, said that it was a serious matter and a police officer had been sent for inquiry though Shalini Singh had not given any application in this regard.
