Bikramganj ( Rohtas): Illegal hoardings have come up on almost all the main roads at Bikramganji right under the nose of Bikramganj Nagar Panchayat in Rohtas district in violation of rules and regulations causing loss to the municipal body.
A hoarding can’t not be installed on footpath, near greenery and less than 1.5 metre distance from an electric poll. Their bottom side should be at least 12 feet above the ground. But in Bikramganj, the hoardings are being set in sheer violation of safety norms and rules and regulations causing a lot of problems for the pedestrians and the vehicle owners as well. The hoarding are set merely 6 to 7 feet from the ground often causing accidents but neither the district administration nor the Nagar Pancahayat apprears concerned about it.
Ranju Devi, Chairman, Bikramganj Nagar Panchayat, said that no tender has so far been ifloated for installation of hoardings though it is under process. She said that once tender process is completed, rates for setting of hoardings will be fixed and legal action against the illegal hoardings would be taken.
Suresh Ram, Executive Officer, Bikarmganj Nagar Panchayat, said that problem would be solved very soon and tax will be fixed as per the department regulations after completing all processes. He said the people wishing to install their hoardings would have to abide by the rules and regulations failing which stern action would be taken against them.
