Patna: IAS Officers’ Association, Bihar branch, at its Extra-ordinary meeting held on February 26, 2017, at the association office while expressing its aguish over the arrest of senior bureaucrat and Chairman of Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) Sudhir Kumar on February 23 night in connection with leakage of question papers of BSSC clerical grade exam has resolved that none of its members will accept the post of Chairman, BSSC, Controller of Exam, BCEC, and Chairman, Technical Services Recruitment Board.
The association is of the view that the IAS officers of Bihar cadre are not secure in performance of their official duties any longer and now fear taking executive decisions lest these decisions be interpreted as criminal wrongdoing. The association also resolved that all further verbal instructions from any higher office including the office of the chief minister shall not be complied with unless given in writing. The association has sought immediate release of Sudhir Kumar by the state government. A delegation of the association had also met CM Nitish Kumar after arrest of Sudhir Kumar, whom it has described as among the most honest, competent and sincere officer of Bihar cadre. A delegation of the association also submitted a memo to Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind on February 26. A large number of IAS officers waited outside the Raj Bhavan.
