Buxar : Chinook Helicopter of Indian Air Force (IAF) had to make safe emergency landing near village Manikpur under Dhansoi police station (PS) in Buxar District in South Bihar on August 25, 2021, due to some technical snag. All those on board the Helicopter are safe.

Buxar SP Neeraj Kumar Singh said that the ZL-4677 Chinook Helicopter of Indian Air Force took off from the Pryagraj (Allahabad) Air Force Base Camp in Uttar Pradesh for Bihta Air Force Station in Patna District in Bihar but it developed some snag when it reached near Manikpur village under Dhansoi PS on August 25, 2021, evening, and so the Helicopter had to make emergency landing on the campus of Manikpur High School. As the Helicopter landed, two dozen officials and army personnel got down from the Helicopter and surrounded it. The SP further said that police force was sent to the spot to assist the army officials.

The onlookers said that a peculiar sound was coming out from the Helicopter due to technical fault and the some part of the chopper got enmeshed in the mud on the campus of the High School.

It may be mentioned here that the Chinook Helicopter with twin engined rotar is made in America and is capable of carrying heavy goods and flying briskly in the air and so it works successfully in the dense hills areas and can land in dense valley and small helipad.
