Sasaram : Some unidentified armed miscreants shot dead a notorious criminal and terror of the area Kallu Khan at village Kaithi in Konar panchayat in Rohtas District in South Bihar on November 13, 2021, early morning. His wife Rani Khatoon is contesting election to the post of Mukhia from Konar Panchayat and Kallu Khan was on door-to-door campaign seeking votes for her.
Police brought the body over to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Tension prevails in and around the area following the incident. An FIR has been lodged with the police in this regard connection and they are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the assailants. Personal enmity is said to be the cause behind the incident.
SDPO, Sasaram, Binod Kumar Rout, said that Rani Khatoon, wife of Kallu Khan of Kaithi village, is contesting Panchayat election for the post of Mukhia from Konar Panchayat. Kallu Khan, a and terror of the area, was canvassing door to door for his wife and requested people to participate in the election procession on November 13, 2021, morning, at his village, when some armed miscreants pumped at least half a dozen bullets into his body killing him on the spot, the SDPO said.
The SDPO said that dozens of FIRs had been lodged with different police stations in Rohtas District against Kallu Khan and he was jailed l several times in the past. He said that the killers have been identified and police would arrest them very soon. The SDPO said that both the groups have criminal background.
