Patna : World No 54 Hubert Hurkacz, 22, Poland, stunned World No 4 and winner of Indian Wells Masters title on March 18, 2019, Dominic Thiem, 25, Austria, in the men’s singles 2nd round of Miami Open at Florida, USA, on March 23, 2019.
Hurkacz beat Thiem, winner of 12 career titles, 6-4, 6-4 in 1 hr 17 minutes in the 2nd round at Hard Rock Stadium, Florida, USA. Hurkacz broke Thiem’s service 4 times in the match while the latter broke his service twice. Hurkacz won 4 games in a row in the match to 3 by Thiem.
